Overview

This website is operated by Geraldine Distillery Limited, the makers of Humdinger, Rambler and Picnicker (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using this site or buying from us, you agree to these Terms of Service and the policies they link to — our Refund Policy, Shipping Policy and Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

Our store is hosted on Shopify, which provides the e-commerce platform we use to sell to you.

1. Buying alcohol

You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol from us. By placing an order you confirm that you are 18 or over, and that the person receiving the order will be too. Every order is sent signature required. We may decline or cancel any order where we believe the buyer or recipient is under 18, or where supplying it would breach the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.

We sell under off-licence 64/OFF/8/2024, held by Geraldine Distillery Limited and valid until 12 December 2028. A copy is available on our Legal Policies page.

2. Prices and payment

All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST unless stated otherwise. Shipping is calculated at checkout — see our Shipping Policy. Prices and products may change without notice, but you pay the price shown at checkout when you place your order. Payments are processed securely through Shopify’s encrypted checkout.

3. Orders, gift cards and tour bookings

We may decline or cancel an order, or limit quantities per person, household or order — for example if a product is unavailable, if there’s a pricing or description error, or if an order appears to be for resale. If we cancel an order you’ve paid for, we’ll refund you in full. You can cancel your own order before it’s dispatched — see our Refund Policy.

Gift cards are non-refundable and can be redeemed online or at our cellar door. Distillery tour bookings can be cancelled or rescheduled up to 48 hours before the tour; a $20 admin fee applies to cancellations. Full tour details are on our Distillery Tours page.

4. Product information

We work hard to describe and photograph our products accurately, but colours can look different on different screens. Occasionally the site may contain errors in descriptions, pricing or availability. We’ll correct them as soon as we’re aware, and may cancel any affected order with a full refund.

5. Your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. If you’re buying for business purposes, the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply to your purchase, to the extent permitted by law.

6. Using this website

You agree not to use this site for anything unlawful; to interfere with its security or operation; to upload viruses or malicious code; to scrape or harvest data; or to submit false or misleading information. We may suspend or refuse access to anyone who breaches these terms, and you’re responsible for any loss we suffer as a result of your breach.

All content on this site — including text, images, recipes, logos, and the Humdinger, Rambler and Picnicker trade marks — belongs to Geraldine Distillery Limited or is used with permission, and may not be copied or reused without our written consent.

7. Reviews, comments and submissions

If you send us reviews, photos, ideas or other material, you allow us to use, edit and publish it in any medium without payment. What you submit must be your own and lawful, and must not be misleading, offensive or infringe anyone else’s rights. We may remove any content at our discretion.

8. Third-party services and links

This site uses and links to third-party services, such as payment, review and booking tools and other websites. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content or practices, so please check their terms before using them.

9. Privacy

How we collect and use your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss (such as lost profits or data) arising from your use of this site or our products, and we don’t guarantee the site will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in this section excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded under New Zealand law, including under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time by posting a new version on this page. Changes apply to orders placed after they are posted.

12. General

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction. If any part of them is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a right straight away, that doesn’t mean we’ve waived it.
