Our multi-award-winning New Zealand classic

Distilled in small batches in Geraldine with Canterbury barley, Humdinger Dry Gin is smooth, rich and beautifully balanced — the gin we built the distillery on, and the one our regulars keep coming back for.

Tasting notes

Subtle citrus opens, classic juniper follows, then a long, warming finish of liquorice root and nutmeg spice. The barley gives it a full-bodied character that holds its own — neat or mixed.

Superior in every way

As a seasoned gin drinker, introduced to it in my twenties in the UK, I reckon I’ve tasted a fair few. The Humdinger dry is my favourite of all time. We chanced upon the shop while in Geraldine on holiday in March and really didn’t expect much. Even after we’d bought it, we feared it might be another of those holiday purchases that lose their magic once we got home. But no! It’s delectable. Love its dryness and its excellent flavour. Just ordering two more bottles. Such a shame there are no stockists near us in Auckland.

Fantastic nightcap

Very good old-style juniper gin.

Good orange citrus flavour without being a "flavoured" gin, which is very easily coaxed to the front with any other orange (peel or spirit) added.

Great as a straight-up martini, fine with tonic.

My sister gave me a bottle of the Dry gin for my birthday and I love it, it’s so smooth with a little liquorice kick at the end; I’ve mostly been using it in martinis!
