Sloe Gin

I come from a family of sloe gin makers. My mother and my aunt used to make it in England almost 100 years ago now. When I first came to New Zealand, you could not find it anywhere. We first visited Humdinger in Geraldine when they were just setting up the premises, before the big move to the new place was even a flicker in their eyes. We tried the regions they had on offer, with the delicious citrus being a fave. First forward 3years, and my partner bought me the double pack of Sloe gin for my birthday, and followed that up with the citrus and the Rangpur Lime for Xmas, &2gorgeous glasses too!
All of the products are wonderful and smooth and high-quality. Unfortunately my mother cannot drink alcohol any more, but I am enjoying the Sloe Gin on her behalf on a regular basis. It really is superb. Finely crafted. Can’t wait for the next batch ♥️ Ngā mihi nui Humdinger!

Beautiful smooth liqueur, looking forward to sipping over ice on a cold night by the fire. But really enjoyed the friendly welcoming and informative conversation instore, very positive and didn’t make you feel stupid as a novice gin drinker. Will definitely be back and bring our visitors to Geraldine for this experience 🤍

Thank you for this delicious, sophisticated treat. The flavour is quite distinctive, beautifully balanced between sweet and sharp. We love to have a small glass of it late at night, whether it’s a way to chill out after a tough day or a way to celebrate after a great day. We’re hooked.

I have recently purchased my second bottle of the Sloe Gin as I love it for Winter. I’ve made the Sloe Gin Fizz cocktail with it several times - delicious! 😋

Found Sloe gin on a trip to Tasmania and I am delighted that there's a fantastic Aotearoa version to be bought and enjoyed. Well done Humdinger!

LOVE this gin.
Over ice or with fever tree tonic, it is a must have in your liquor cabinet, so delicious. So pleased we made the quick stop in Geraldine for the first purchase...for more recent purchases, the online service is excellent - thank goodness!

We discovered this Sloe Gin when we visited Humdinger in Geraldine and enjoyed a tasting session. It has beautiful flavours and colour, and is divine to sip on. Best Sloe Gin we have tasted.

Beautiful rich berry flavour with that perfect balance of tart and sweet — smooth enough to sip slowly over ice… although “slowly” might be optimistic.

WOW sloe gin is so good. It arrived really fast - Had a small glass on ICE when I got home from work.. it is AMAZING. I am just getting another one now, incase I have none left for christmas. Really liked the hand written card from Bridget as well - personal touch means a lot to me. BEST GIN EVER.

Humdinger Sloe gin is just a delight to drink, my absolute favorite.

We popped in and were sweetly guided into a tasting, walking away with a couple of bottles of course! Lovely instore experience and tasty sloe!

We had a wee tipple when we stayed at The Vicarage in Geraldine and had to buy some Slo Gin for gifts (and one for us of course!)

One of the best Sloe gins I have tasted! Recently took a couple of bottles to Ireland as presents for gin loving relatives and they were blown away by the taste 👍

This is my second bottle of the sloe gin as I found it at the Hamner fete last year and then was able to visit Geraldine. My favorite is on ice.

Im from the UK and used to making my own sloe gin. Very happy to have found a source in NZ. The only downside of not making my own is not having the 'by product' of the steeped sloes, which are amazing pitted and mixed in ice cream. This gin is dangerously drinkable. Think I will need a second bottle.

After being introduced to Humdinger Sloe Gin last year, it is easily my (& my partners) go-to gin for a quiet drink at home after work on a Friday afternoon. The vibrant sweet taste is a refreshing change, whether drinking it neat or with some ice & tonic water.
We have Sloe-ly introduced some of our friends to this unique gin and cannot speak highly enough about it. Thank you.

Ever since I've known Humdinger to sell sloe gin, I've been there with bells on. Such a unique taste and it's absolutely beautiful. I drink mine neat and even then it disappears far too quickly for my liking. The only comment? Please make a larger bottle! All jokes aside, it's well worth trying and no doubt you'll end up like me... religiously setting a reminder on your phone to place an order when it's released each year.
